RECREATIONAL REFEREES

If you would like to be a Sporting Brookside recreational referee, you must meet the following requirements:

You must be at least 13 years old, and take the Sporting Brookside Referee Training Clinic. You can also be an adult and referee; in fact, we always welcome more gray hair on the referees!

No experience is necessary. We will train you. If you do have prior experience in other leagues, great! However, we would still like you to attend part of Sporting Brookside's Referee Training Clinic, so you will understand what makes being a Sporting Brookside referee so cool. Being a referee can be both a money earner and an opportunity for gaining valuable first job experience. We try our best to keep the atmosphere positive, and have great mentors that help with those first steps while you gain confidence.

All new referees are required to attend annual training, which is offered each season. The referee course consists of a classroom course (5-6 hours), a test, and on-field training/shadowing during the first weekend of play. Please sign up to be a referee prior to our next scheduled referee training course, so you are eligible. To sign up or for questions, please send an email to Referee@BrooksideSoccer.org.
