Recreational League Scholarship Policy
Criteria and Eligibility: Any family is eligible to apply for a scholarship if an economic barrier could prevent the player from enjoying and playing soccer.
Financial need will be the only determinant in receiving a scholarship. The following will be taken into consideration when awarding scholarships.
- The scholarship application process does not guarantee a scholarship.
- A scholarship application must be completed by a parent, guardian, or head of household for each player prior to the closure of the recreational fall or spring season registration platform.
- Interested scholarship recipients must apply every season for each player in need.
- Scholarships are only valid for recreational league play and cannot be used for camps, clinics or other activities that sit outside normal league play every fall and spring season.
- Scholarship applications will NOT be considered during late registration.
- Financial need will be the only factor in awarding a scholarship. A written statement of immediate financial hardship explaining the current situation will be required along with other contact and personal information.
- Sporting Brookside does not offer full scholarships and thus, each recipient will be required to pay a reduced registration fee for each scholarship received when checking out to participate.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Parents/guardians must submit individual applications for each participant through our website under the recreation scholarship link. Candidates must complete the online recreational scholarship application and submit it no less than 30 days prior to the closure of registration signups every season. All applications will be reviewed and considered in strict confidence with the club’s Executive Director and Registrar and could be shared with the Board of Directors and will not be used for any other purpose than review of that season’s league scholarship request.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Once an application is reviewed, the club’s Executive Director will follow up with the parent/guardian via email with a decision. Upon approval, a discount code will be shared, and the family will have a window of opportunity to utilize the code and pay the discounted registration fee. The discount code cannot be extended once shared, nor can it be transferred in any form. Neither refunds nor credits will be offered once players are registered, so please submit an application prior to paying for a player registration if interested in financial aid.
