Soccer for the City

Sporting Brookside’s competitive youth teams are open to children ages 8-18. Players receive programming from a professionally trained, experienced coaching staff.  Tryouts are in June for the team placement for the annual league - which includes two tournaments and three league seasons (fall, winter and spring). Fall and spring seasons are played through Heartland Soccer Association, one of the largest soccer leagues in the USA. Winter league varies by team of either Futsal, indoor or outdoor soccer. Teams are divisionally divided to offer competitive play and opportunity for development.

Beyond practice, Sporting Brookside provides additional training via SAQ (strength, agility and quickness) sessions by athletic trainers at Children’s Mercy Hospital's Center for Sports Medicine. Fall and spring outdoor practices are twice weekly at the state of the art turf fields at Swope Soccer Village at 63rd Street and Lewis Road. Winter practices are weekly at TeamWork Sports indoor facility in Waldo. Additional camps and clinics are offered throughout the year and summer.

Sporting Brookside goes out of its way to offer quality soccer and coaching that is affordable to all. The club continues to explore sponsorship and fundraising opportunities to offset player costs and grow scholarship funds.
